Hello Awesome Backers:
With less than a week to go, I wanted to give everyone an idea of what goes on behind the scenes when producing an audio drama. Here's a glimpse into the casting process...
I sent out casting notices to various groups on Facebook and Mandy.com. I made sure the artwork of the CD cover was included as I knew that would generate more interest. And then the flood of auditions came in. I listened to every single one. As you can imagine it was incredibly time intensive and selecting the finalists was tough. Upon the advice of Eddie Louise and Chip, we set up a Zoom meeting with breakout rooms where we had the various actors auditioning for Samuel, Caitlin, and Granville rotate so they could play off of each other. Being the creator and producer, I had the final say in who was selected.
For Caitlin, I was looking for a certain sparkle in the actor's voice. For Samuel, I wanted to make sure the actor could evoke empathy, yet be the tough guy when needed. For Granville, he needed to portray a man slightly older than Samuel, have gravitas in his voice, and be a bit of stuffed shirt.
I was fortunate to find all of that in Emily C.A. Snyder, Ryan Philbrook, and Martin Davis.

An Augmented Reality Haunted Card Game
The original intention of creating Photoghasts was being able to tell a short-form supernatural story that was short enough to fit comfortably on social media. Accompanied with an animated image to give the impression of a ‘haunted photo’. Mixing two of my passions, found footage and ghost stories.
What if these haunted images could be compiled together into a card game? But, not just any old card game. A game that would allow players a truly unique ‘horror’ gaming experience by from scanning each card.
